The Opportunity
Our client is one of Australia’s highest performing food producers. Consistently growing via acquisition, they are quickly becoming one of Australia’s highly sought after employers.
During a time of significant growth this position is responsible for leading the central accounting for the Group
The Challenge
Based on the Sunshine Coast, this role supports the Group CFO and is responsible for supporting the group with management and leadership of the group accounting function.
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Technical accounting/taxation/transactions/insurance/audit/general finance advice to stakeholders across trading and non-trading Australian entities. Includes BU executive leaders, group finance and Australian multi-site finance teams
- Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
- Efficient month end close along with timely completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Leading the planning, organising and coordinating the year-end close process with external auditors
- Ensuring successful completion of the company’s tax filings
- Oversee preparation of financial statements
- Planning, budgeting, and authorising expenditures
- Hiring, training and retaining competent accounting staff
- Safeguarding company assets through developing and maintaining a sound internal control frameworks.
- Lead by example – manage own and professional staff’s priorities on an ongoing basis, ensure stakeholder requests are dealt with in a timely manner
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- Ideally, you are a chartered accountant and started your career with PwC, KPMG, Deloitte or EY. You have since been working in a group role of a large corporate, preferably ASX listed or a listed MNE
- Experience in manufacturing or product based businesses is highly desirable
- It is a given that you will have superior financial reporting experience, be a strong communicator and have proven experience leading high performing teams
