The Opportunity
Join a leading Australian logistics business as Head of Financial Control, reporting directly to an exceptional Group CFO. You will manage 3 direct reports and play a pivotal role in a high-performing finance team. This role offers full ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and controls, with plenty of scope to lead improvement and optimisation initiatives. Perfect for a current Financial Controller looking for a fresh and rewarding challenge.
The Challenge
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, half-year and year-end financial statements in line with ASX and statutory reporting requirements
- Manage the external reporting process, including coordination of ASX releases and board reporting packs
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain group accounting policies
- Oversee the month-end close process across the group to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Strengthen and monitor internal controls and governance frameworks
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial oversight across core logistics operations
- Manage treasury, cash flow forecasting, and banking relationships
- Lead and develop a team of 3 finance professionals
- Support the CFO by monitoring and communicating the group’s capital requirements and coordinating funds flow
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- CA / CPA qualified with relevant financial leadership experience
- Ideally Big4 or Mid-tier chartered accounting experience prior to your successful transition into industry
- Ability to be hands on with proven experience driving financial performance across a team oriented environment
- Superior financial reporting and technical accounting experience
- Experience in the development of internal controls and financial policies
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Previous experience in a capital intensive environment will be looked upon favourably
