The Opportunity

An ASX listed global industry leader with a Melbourne head-office our client is seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives on delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and contributing to informed decision-making across the business.

You’ll play a key role in driving financial performance and process improvement through monthly management reporting, forecasting and budgeting. This position offers the chance to work in a collaborative environment that supports professional development and continuous improvement.

The role will commence as a 13-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension.

The Challenge

As the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting stakeholders across multiple business units. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a motivated team, exercising sound judgement and analytical skills to deliver meaningful insights that influence business outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including analysis and commentary.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders to review and interpret results.
• Supporting the month-end close process and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assisting in the preparation of forecasts and budgets, including analysis of variances.
• Maintaining internal controls and supporting internal and external audit activities.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting.

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• Ideally you are CA qualified from PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, EY or a leading tier 2 firm and have since developed a sound management accounting skillset within dynamic industry environments.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and management accounting.
• Budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Experience working in manufacturing, FMCG or agriculture is highly regarded.
• A driver’s licence will be required for very occasional travel.
