The Opportunity

A  unique and exciting opportunity to join a historic retail and hospitality group as their Property Accountant. The position plays a pivotal role in revenue management, organisation, and analysis of the property, leases and licences of the company. This role involves closely partnering with the Operations and Legal team, and you’ll get broad exposure across the whole business.

It is an excellent role to develop your skills and make a meaningful impact in a business that also positively impacts the community. Our client is considering applicants with a wide range of backgrounds, so you might have worked in a broad bookkeeping role, an Accountant role, or a similar property role. 

The Challenge

Partnering closely with with legal, operations and finance teams some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with budgeting and relevant financial and operational tasks for the property portfolio. 
  • Ensure traders are invoiced accurately and maintain accurate trader records in the system.
  • Manage the debtor profile and prepare relevant reports, such as tenant/trader reconciliation, rent increases, bonds and security deposits.
  • Develop and manage the property budget and forecasting revenue. 
  • Collaborate with the Senior Legal Counsel to provide finance support throughout the entire lifecycle of the leases. 
  • Complete monthly balance sheet and income account reconciliations.
  • Assist with general month-end procedures and journal entries according to the month-end close timetable.
  • Assist with handling tenant/trader enquiries

The Expertise

  • 3+ year’s working experience in relevant accounts/finance roles. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who can build relationships across the business. 
  • A ‘can-do’, flexible and fun attitude.
  • Interest in business partnering with operations, legal and property teams.
