The Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly growing business in the engineering space. They are private equity backed and deliver projects across Australia in all sectors. This is an exciting time for a chartered accountant to join the business, as they are going through a significant growth phase with the intention of doubling their revenue over the next 3 to 4 years.

The Challenge

Reporting into the Head of Finance, your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules across multiple entities.
Preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS/AASB and support of external audits, including audit-ready working papers and technical analysis.
Providing technical accounting support on complex transactions including revenue recognition, provisions, leases and acquisitions, and preparing accounting position papers.
Supporting project accounting with oversight of WIP balances, revenue recognition, project profitability and risk indicators in partnership with Finance Business Partners and project teams.
Driving systems and process improvements, including automation initiatives, ERP enhancements and standardisation of workflows to improve data quality and reporting efficiency.
Partnering with Finance Business Partners, Shared Services and operational stakeholders, and providing guidance to junior and offshore team members where appropriate.

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

Ideally, you are audit trained from a reputable firm and have already made your first move into industry, this will likely be your second or third move.
CA or CPA qualified with strong experience in hands on financial reporting and financial control roles.
Comfortable working at detail level while driving improvements in process and structure.
Able to communicate clearly with stakeholders and present financial information in a concise way.
Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of streamlining finance operations
