The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to make a difference in a reputable and growing for purpose organisation. This position is a broad role working closely with the Finance Manager and would be a great fit for someone who is passionate about the Not-for-Profit space, whilst working alongside a highly collaborative team of likeminded individuals. This is a true 2IC role to the Finance Manager.

This is a broad role including financial accounting, with exposure to management accounting, systems improvements and business partnering. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage different priorities and have an enthusiastic and can-do attitude to work. This role sits in a close knit team who care about the work that they do, and they are looking for a long term fit for to join the team. 

The Challenge

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining ledgers in an accurate and timely manner;
• Month-end duties relating to fixed assets and revenues;
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports;
• Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process;
• Completing regular variance analysis;
• Working on the correct recognition of revenue/grants accounting;
• Performing balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations;
• Reconciling bank accounts daily;
• Assisting the broader finance team with other ad hoc duties
• Support the Finance Manager with coaching and mentoring of team

The Expertise 

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• You have relevant experience working in a broad accounting role
• You are CA/CPA qualified
• Superior financial accounting experience
• You have a passion and interest towards the Not-for-Profit sector
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with non-finance stakeholders
• Your are systems savvy with strong MS excel skills
