Senior Financial Accountant | Renewables | WFH

The Opportunity

A leading Australian renewables and infrastructure group backed by a respected global investment manager is entering its next phase of growth and strengthening its finance capability. With a collaborative leadership team and a growing portfolio of high-quality assets, the business is focused on building a modern, insight-led finance function that underpins performance, accountability and long-term value creation.

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this Senior Financial Accountant position offers broad exposure across financial and statutory reporting, consolidation, audit, tax compliance and treasury activities. You will play a key role in supporting financial integrity across the group while partnering closely with stakeholders across finance, operations and the wider business.

The Challenge 

As a key member of the finance team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing month-end close processes across corporate and joint venture entities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany transactions
  • Preparing monthly management reporting, including P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and commentary on key business drivers
  • Supporting group consolidations, intercompany reconciliations and the preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Supporting compliance with statutory, regulatory and financing obligations across the group
  • Leading the audit process for standalone entities and supporting the broader group audit process
  • Preparing audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation for key balance sheet and judgemental areas
  • Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors and coordinating audit deliverables and timelines
  • Supporting tax compliance activities including BAS, income tax and maintenance of tax fixed asset registers
  • Assisting with treasury and working capital activities including cash flow forecasting, liquidity monitoring and financing-related transactions
  • Partnering with operational stakeholders to provide financial insights, support decision-making and drive continuous improvement across reporting, controls and finance processes

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

  • CA/CPA qualified with a strong technical accounting foundation, ideally developed within Big 4 or a leading mid-tier accounting firm alongside commercial finance experience
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting, consolidations, audit, tax compliance and treasury within a complex or asset-intensive environment
  • Experience within infrastructure, renewable energy, property or broader project-based sectors will be highly regarded
  • Proactive, hands-on and adaptable, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across finance and operations while driving process improvement and strengthening financial controls
