The Opportunity

Our client is a highly regarded Melbourne-based company in the utilities sector. They are going through an exciting period of growth and innovation, making it an ideal time to join the business. As part of their ongoing investment in people, we are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor for a newly created role. It’s a great time to join as they are seeking to grow their internal audit function, so this is a role where you can really make your mark!
  
The role will commence as an initial 12-month fixed term, with a view to permanency thereafter. We are flexible and open to a start date prior to Christmas, or in January after the break depending on your availability.

The Challenge

Reporting to the General Manager Internal Audit, your primary responsibility will be executing the risk-based audit plan. Other key responsibilities include:  

• Developing robust internal audit strategies and providing planning, execution, and reporting
• Leading and conducting internal audits
• Developing and implementing strategic risk-based audit plans, ensuring coverage of key business areas and identifying emerging risks
• Providing internal audit report and presentations to senior management
• Managing co-sourced audits with third-party service providers
• Using data analytics and analysis to identify trends and providing insights on how to improve
• Building strong relationships across with stakeholders across the business, and driving a culture of open communication and collaboration

The Expertise

Please consider applying for this position if you meet the following criteria:
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, Engineering or a related field.
• Likely professional certifications such as IIA, CIA, CPA, CA, CISA, CISSP
• Likely you have a background in professional services or a large corporate, and have had exposure to a wide range of audits which may include IT, Cyber, Operational, possibly Financial 
• Experience in Utilities / Energy or related sectors is nice to have
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with varying stakeholder groups
