The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established transport and logistics business, they have built a long-standing and reputable name for themselves in the sector over the last 50 years. This has opened up a great opportunity for a Senior Payroll Officer to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Joining the business at a time like this will allow you to put your own stamp on setting up new processes and procedures. An all-encompassing payroll position working closely and supporting the Payroll Manager. 

The Challenge

Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, as the Senior Payroll Officer you will be assisting the broader team and driving process improvements through the payroll function and broader business.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include: 

• Preparing and processing payroll on a weekly basis
• Completing new starter and employee terminations
• Award interpretation and applying relevant policies and procedures
• Reviewing and uploading time and attendance files
• Providing support to management with month-end tasks  
• Supporting management through month and year-end processes which includes preparing superannuation, payroll tax, WorkCover and executive bonus calculations
• Responding to payroll related queries
• Assisting with the management of the payroll team

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• 5+ years end to end payroll experience
• Exposure to high volume / fast-paced Payroll environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Should you be available to start work without a notice it will be viewed as advantageous
• iChris or Chris21 experience will be required
