The Opportunity
My client is a successful ASX listed corporate with a Melbourne head office. On offer is a broad Senior Tax Accountant role, where you’ll work on tax compliance such as indirect tax, the income tax return, and interesting project work around improving efficiencies in the tax function.
The company is in a growth phase, so it’s a good time to join the business. The role will be offered as an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with the potential for extension thereafter. We are happy to wait for a notice period.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Head of Tax, key responsibilities will include:
- Managing direct and indirect tax compliance across a multi-entity international group, including oversight of offshore tax obligations
- Preparing and overseeing key tax filings including consolidated income tax returns, CbC reporting, BAS/IAS, FBT, payroll tax, withholding tax and R&D tax claims
- Ensuring compliance with evolving tax legislation while continuously improving internal tax processes, controls and governance
- Providing tax advisory support across the business on transactions, accounting matters, projects, new products and operational issues
- Identifying tax risks and opportunities, providing commercial recommendations to support informed decision-making
- Preparing tax reporting, forecasts, budgets, reconciliations and statutory disclosures, including Board and Audit Committee reporting
- Supporting workflow improvements and efficiencies within the tax function
The Expertise
Please apply if you meet most of the following:
- 3 – 5 years minimum Australian experience in a corporate tax role, either in a large accounting firm or a large corporate
- Post graduate qualification CA/CPA or Masters of Tax
- Good knowledge of Tax Effect Accounting and preparation of Corporate Tax Returns
- Exposure to indirect taxes
- Strong communication skills and the desire to contribute to team who are committed to continuous improvements
