The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding IT group with ongoing growth potential, in a newly created Senior Tax Analyst role. Our client has tripled in size over the past 4 years and has clear growth plans. Reporting into and closely alongside the Tax Manager, you will be responsible in ensuring all required direct and indirect tax obligations across ANZ are met. There will also be opportunity to be involved with group reporting.
The Challenge
Reporting directly to the Tax Manager; some of your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of Australian and New Zealand income tax, GST and FBT compliance and reporting
- Preparation of monthly tax effect accounting journals for all entities within the Group
- Assist the Tax Manager with other tax compliance matters
- Assist and evaluate with current accounting policies and procedures to identify improvements, and make recommendations
- Liaise with the Group Finance team to ensure transactions are accurately documented and reported
- Support the Tax Manager with communication to stakeholders and external advisors
- Source and validate inputs for long-term business planning to further support compliance and reporting requirements
- Fulfil any ad-hoc duties to help ensure tax obligations are met
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- You are CA/CPA qualified or soon to be, or obtain a Graduate Diploma in Tax.
- Ideally, you have 3-5 years’ experience working in a tax focussed role in a Big4 or mid-tier chartered firm, and looking to make your first move into industry to an in-house tax role.
- You are dynamic, ambitious, and have an interest in working in a fast-growing sector.
- A sound knowledge of tax concepts, compliance and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of robust quality processes that must be upheld.
- You have excellent communication skills skills across all stakeholders.
