The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial finance and strategy professional to join a large, well-known retail business. They have an authentic culture and a high calibre leadership team.
The business is looking for a highly strategic finance professional with a skill-set that enhances the businesses strategic planning process, commercial decision support and business partnering.
The Challenge
Reporting to and working closely with the CFO, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead strategic planning process, shaping long-term visions and short-term budgets.
- Communicate effectively, critiquing strategies and presenting financial plans for board review.
- Develop complex forecast models integrating P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet elements.
- Provide decision support through financial modelling and business cases.
- Tackle diverse analytical challenges, optimizing marketing and improving efficiency.
- Challenge assumptions and pinpoint key value drivers for strategic decisions.
- Present recommendations to executive team, including Managing Director.
- Analyse and support key functional areas, enhancing business performance.
- Manage and mentor 4 commercial finance managers.
The Expertise
The successful candidate will likely have;
- A tertiary degree, with a focus on finance; additional certifications like CFA, CPA, or CA desired.
- 7+ years in management consulting, corporate finance, or related fields.
- E-commerce/retail experience preferred.
- Exceptional communication and project management skills, comfortable engaging at senior levels.
- Strong written skills, capable of board-level presentations.
- Proficiency in financial modelling with high accuracy.
- High level strategic and commercial acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at navigating multiple stakeholders.
- The ability to effectively prioritize team efforts to meet business needs.
