The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the the payables, credit, and trust functions for one of Australia’s best law firms. The business is widely recognised for continually achieving outstanding results for their clients and is very much at the forefront of the industry in promoting diversity and flexibility in the workplace. 

Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with senior leaders in the business, this role will be integral in overseeing the firm’s transactional finance function. If you are an experienced Shared Service Manager or Transactional Finance Manager and have experience working in a professional services environment, this is truly an exceptional opportunity for you.

Please note, this role will initially be offered as a 12-month fixed term contract covering the current incumbent whilst they are on maternity leave.

The Challenge

Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the broader finance function, some of your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: 

• Manage and oversee the daily finance operations of the firm and liaise with the CFO where necessary.
• Lead, support and develop the transactional accounting team. 
• Develop and deliver the finance KPI’s.
• Provide analysis and reporting to senior management.
• Drive internal and external relationships.
• Leading and identifying continuous process improvements across the accounts payable, credit and trust function.
• Enhancing each department’s month-end close processes.
• Assist with the external audit process.

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• 10+ years of experience in management ideally across broad transactional or shared service roles.
• CPA/CA qualified (highly regarded although not essential).
• Excellent knowledge of accounts payable, credit and trust accounts processes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with all levels of stakeholders and customers.
• Ideally you have worked in professional services before.
