The Opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity to join one of Australia’s largest and growing FMCG organisations. With a rich history of over 100 years, our client is now a well-renowned household brand for families all across Australia. They have continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions, making them a true market leader in the country. 

This Accountant position is supporting a close-knit finance team on an initial 6-month contract with the view to go permanent. This role will have a broad scope of responsibilities and closely support the broader finance function.

The Challenge
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Accurate and timely completion of both weekly and monthly reporting 
• Managing daily transactions and sales invoices
• Meet month-end deadlines – including prepayments, accruals, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations
• Complete general ledger reconciliations
• Preparation of weekly forecasts
• Investigate and explain variances, trends, and anomalies, by providing analysis relating to costs and profit margin variances against budgets and forecasts
• Identify key drivers of material variances
• Other ad-hoc duties as required

The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• Importantly, you will have 3+ years experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Accountant role.
• You will have strong Excel knowledge skills.
• It is a given, you will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with all levels of stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines and work both autonomously and as a team.
