The Opportunity

Our client is a leading ASX-listed company with an impressive track record of year-on-year growth. We are seeking an accountant to join their head-office accounting team. This is the perfect first step out of a chartered firm, or an ideal move for an ASX industry trained Financial Accountant who is seeking progression. The role is broad and encompasses month-end, statutory reporting, controls and treasury. The team has a social, collegiate culture with ongoing hybrid working.
 
The Challenge

Reporting to the Finance Manager, examples of key responsibilities will include:

• Month-end activities related to fixed assets, revenue and treasury 
• General ledger accounting such as capitalisation of new assets, disposals, depreciation and amortisation, etc
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and consolidated journal entries
• Preparing cash flow statements and statements for change in equity
• Statutory reporting and compliance, such as supporting with half-year and year-end reporting
• Assisting with the internal and external audit process
• Adding value by supporting with continuous improvement projects, such as creating templates and automating processes

The Expertise

Please apply for the position if you have the following:  

• CA/CPA recent qualification
• At least 3 years’ experience in the finance team of a large, listed Group or, experience in Audit/Business services, ideally with exposure to large, complex companies
• Good foundational understanding of financial accounting processes
• Attention to detail and ability to focus on quality work
• Curious attitude and commitment to learning
• Team player
