The Opportunity
Our client is one of Australia’s most reputable companies that have experienced considerable growth. They are a dynamic and exciting tech company, that are highly profitable and very focused on further international growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Payroll Manager who is ready to step into a senior role with a leading ASX-listed company. You’ll oversee end-to-end payroll operations – from onboarding to terminations – manage month-end obligations, reporting, and lead a small to medium-sized team.
The Challenge
As the Payroll Operations Manager, reporting to the Head of Payroll, you will lead the payroll team and drive continuous process improvement.
This role is perfect for a skilled payroll executive with a hands-on leadership style and a passion for enhancing processes and systems.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Payroll Operations Team to ensure seamless delivery of compliant and accurate fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
- Manage daily operations and prioritise tasks to maintain smooth service continuity.
- Ensure payroll compliance with Australian and New Zealand laws, policies, NES standards, and system updates.
- Maintain compliance to PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, IRD, KiwiSaver, and ACC requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships for payroll-related services.
- Coordinate internal and external payroll audits.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on employee contract requests and onboarding documentation.
- Design and implement improvements to payroll systems, working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- 10+ years’ experience as a Payroll Manager, ideally within a listed company.
- Proven ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced payroll environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Immediate availability is advantageous.
- Proficiency with large ERP/Payroll systems such as iChris, ADP, SAP, Preceda, or MicroPay.
