Senior Accountant Fixed Assets | $150,000 Package | Top ASX

The Opportunity 
This is a rare opportunity to work in a newly created role in a top ASX consumer goods business. The role is responsible for managing the fixed assets for the business and be a leader in improving processes and efficiencies as the business goes through a period of growth.

The Challenge
Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead within Financial Accounting team on fixed assets and capital expenditure policy as it affects the balance sheet and P&L
  • Assisting the production of monthly Board report providing insights regarding fixed asset and D&A trends for P&L and balance sheet and variations to budget by segment and entity
  • Partner with project teams to monitor project milestones and update cost-to-complete forecasts.
  • Perform monthly variance analyses comparing actual spend vs budget, clearly articulating reasons for variances and
    impacts on project estimates.
  • Collaborate with tax teams to assess the deductibility of CAPEX for compliance and reporting purposes
  • Identify, lead and implement process improvements (including change management) to enhance efficiencies

The Expertise
Please apply for this position if you meet the following criteria:

  • CA/CPA qualification or international equivalent
  • 5-8 years accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards regarding fixed assets 
  • Experience in managing fixed assets accounting and timely month-end processes
  • Strong experience and drive to improve processes and procedures 
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong personal leadership, able to respond to requests and manage own workload, as well as delegate and review work as appropriate
